How Lion Studios, a Tripledot Studio, increased iOS scale 6x and D28 ARPU 44% for their hit title, Point Out

Lion Studios, a Tripledot Studio, is a global mobile game publisher specializing in hybrid-casual puzzle and simulation games. For their popular directional puzzle title Point Out, the studio looked to scale the game with high-quality players that generate revenue through a hybrid mix of in-app purchases (IAP) and ads beyond D7.
By adding Unity Ads D28 Hybrid ROAS campaigns to its existing Unity campaign mix, Lion Studios, a Tripledot Studio, increased scale 6x on Unity Ads while also improving ARPU and D28 retention.
In their own words
““Unity’s D28 Hybrid campaigns helped unlock new cohorts of high quality users, enabling us to massively scale Point Out and drive significant lifts in ARPU and late-game retention.””

Lead Analyst, GrowthThe goal
Lion Studios, a Tripledot Studio, wanted to acquire high-quality players who convert later in the funnel and deliver higher lifetime value (LTV). The team was already running D7 Ad Revenue and Hybrid ROAS campaigns on Unity Ads, which were effective at optimizing for near-term IAP converters and ad watchers, but they needed a campaign type built to capture longer-term value.
The solution
The Unity team recommended the publisher leverage Unity Ads D28 Hybrid ROAS campaigns, which was then in closed beta. Unity Vector now supports this campaign type to enable hybrid monetization publishers like Lion Studios, a Tripledot Studio, to use longer horizon signals to identify and acquire the later-converting, higher-LTV players the team was after.

Driving significant scale and quality increases with D28 Hybrid ROAS campaigns
The studio had experienced strong results on Unity Ads with D7 ROAS campaigns for Point Out. To further realize the monetization potential of the title, they now looked to target later converters using longer optimization windows.
The Unity team's answer: a Unity Ads D28 Hybrid ROAS campaign, then in closed beta.
Implementation included hands-on onboarding support from the Unity team, with bid and budget guidance, performance monitoring, and Unity Vector best practices. A key recommendation was that the D28 Hybrid ROAS campaign should not replace the Lion Studio’s D7 campaigns, but rather work in tandem with them.

Point Out launched D28 Hybrid ROAS campaigns on iOS in February 2026, with Android following in late March. The results were unambiguous, particularly on iOS: scale surged 6x, while game-level quality increased simultaneously. D28 ARPU grew by over 44% and D28 retention rose by over 52%, demonstrating that Point Out’s D28 Hybrid ROAS campaigns didn’t just bring an influx of new users, but acquired high quality players at scale.

Why both D7 and D28 campaign types mattered
Point Out's user acquisition portfolio on Unity Ads now operated across three distinct campaign types, each optimizing for a different point on the user value curve.
The approach followed Unity Vector's multi-campaign best practice to run each campaign type in its own lane and optimize for a distinct point on the LTV curve (D7 and D28), so no value goes uncaptured.
The performance multiplier of a strong data foundation
Particularly important to the success of the D28 Hybrid ROAS campaigns was Lion Studios, a Tripledot Studio, establishing a strong data foundation around signals offered to Unity Vector models - including SDK integration, comprehensive attribution, purchase, and revenue signal coverage.
This data foundation helps to strengthen the optimization quality across the D28 cohort window, improving the system's ability to identify high-value users over time.
The result was campaigns running with the visibility to distinguish high LTV users who convert later from the rest of the acquisition pool.
Point Out's results demonstrate the impact possible when the right campaign architecture, data foundation, and optimization strategy converge. Layered on top of an already-performing D7 campaign portfolio, D28 Hybrid ROAS campaigns unlocked significant new growth for Point Out. For hybrid-casual publishers looking to reach the full monetization potential of their titles, this studio’s story offers a compelling blueprint.
