- Complete the SheerID verification form, providing details of your academic affiliation and additional documentation, if necessary.

Yes. Sign up for the Unity Educator plan with your Unity ID. Once verified by SheerID, activate your new license through your Preferences in the Unity Hub using the license key you receive by email.
You can log in to Unity from any computer, including at school, to access resources. Note: If your school uses the Education Grant License, you may not be prompted to log in to the Unity Hub or the Editor. In this case, you can still use your Unity Educator ID to log in to the Asset Store.
The Unity Educator plan is free and allows individual educators to teach and create with Unity at home or school on their personal devices. The Education Grant License is for institutions that need to install Unity on institutional devices, such as in classrooms or labs. For non-U.S. secondary educators who cannot currently access the Educator plan, the Education Grant License provides access to Unity Pro.
The Unity Educator plan is free and allows individual educators to teach and create with Unity at home or school on their personal devices. The Unity Student plan is free and allows students to learn and create at home or school on their personal devices. Students who are at least the age at which an individual can consent to the processing of their personal data (e.g., 13 in the United States, 16 in the European Union) and who are currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution, as verified by Unity or Unity’s third-party partner, are eligible to use the Unity Student plan.
The Unity Educator plan is available for free to eligible educators and cannot be purchased. Please refer to the free Education Grant License for your institution’s classroom needs.

No, but your colleagues are welcome to sign up for their own free Unity Educator plan.
Once you successfully sign up for Unity Educator, you will have access to the plan for one year.
The Unity Educator plan is valid for one year. When the plan expires, simply return to the Unity Educator page and re-verify with SheerID to renew the license.
In most cases, verification should be instantaneous. If you have been prompted to upload additional documents, you will receive an email from SheerID when your verification is complete. If your verification takes longer than five business days, please contact SheerID directly.
You can only associate one Unity ID with your Unity Educator plan. If you need to change the email address associated with your Unity ID, please follow these instructions.
Please check both your email inboxes for confirmation of status as well as separate instructions on how to activate your educator benefits.
Plastic SCM is a metered service based on active users and storage. If you exceed the amount included with your Plastic SCM subscription, you will receive an invoice. If you do not wish to pay for the service, you must not exceed the storage and active users offered through your subscription. To monitor your usage, please visit your dashboard.
