Changes to subscription plans in 2026

We will be making adjustments to Unity pricing and packaging in line with last year’s commitment to predictable, annual price adjustments. Unity Pro and Enterprise will see a 5% price increase, starting January 12th, 2026. Unity Pro, Enterprise, and Industry plans on 6.0 LTS will no longer include Havok Physics for Unity. Later in 2026, all plans will gain expanded free access to Unity DevOps functionality.

Key facts:

  • Unity Pro and Enterprise: If you’re an existing subscriber, your price will update at your next renewal on or after Jan 12, 2026. Final amounts may vary by region due to local taxes, currency, and rounding, and will be shown at checkout or in your quote.
  • Unity DevOps: Coming in Q1 of 2026, we’ll be removing seat charges for Unity Version Control hosted in our public cloud. We’re expanding the free tier of cloud pay-as-you-go features to 25 GB of storage (up from 5 GB), adding 100 Mac build minutes for Unity Build Automation, and 100 GB of free egress.
  • Havok Physics for Unity: Starting with Unity 6.3, Havok Physics will no longer be included with Pro, Enterprise, or Industry. Havok Physics for Unity remains supported for the remainder of Unity 2022 LTS and Unity 6.0 LTS.

Frequently asked questions

Changes to Unity Version Control and Unity Build Automation

Pricing changes will take effect on 3/1/26 and will benefit all* existing customers. We will also be introducing new capabilities and features.

Pricing changes consist of:

  • Unlimited DevOps cloud seats (no more per-seat charges)
  • Lower Standard Storage pricing
  • 5× more free storage (25GB included per org monthly, up from 5GB) plus 100 GB of free Egress monthly. In addition, Unity will not be charging for Egress during March and April 2026 (the first two months this pricing change goes live).
  • More free build minutes across platforms
  • Clearer, easier-to-understand pricing and invoices
  • Renaming 100 Windows Minutes (Standard) to Windows Minutes (Micro). This change does not affect performance or cost.
  • Adding 100 Mac Minutes (Standard) monthly
  • Adding 100 Linux Minutes (Micro) monthly

Additionally, we will be improving the clarity of the pricing model:

  • All Storage and Egress will be measured in GB. We will no longer use GB-Hours. The amount of Storage will be averaged across the month, and Egress will increase based on the amount of data transferred out of Unity's networks.
  • We will be standardizing our naming conventions in the dashboard, pricing pages, and invoices to make it easier to trace cost and usage across all places it is mentioned.
  • Renaming "Concurrent Machines" to "Unity Editor Concurrency"
  • Simplifying Unity Editor Concurrency to a flat monthly rate. The vast majority of customers benefit from this change.

We anticipate that these changes will greatly benefit the vast majority of customers and aid in the understanding of cloud costs on the Unity platform.

*If you have a negotiated agreement with Unity, please speak to your assigned sales rep and/or account manager for questions and concerns.

We’re simplifying how costs are measured and shifting from GB-hours to GB-based storage and metered Egress to help make the developer experience clearer.

Egress is the measurement of bandwidth used when a user downloads something from the service. See below for more info on our we measure Egress:

  • ❌ No charge for uploads
  • ❌ No charge for traffic between Unity services
  • ✅ Only external downloads are measured
  • ✅ 100GB of free Egress included per month

$0.10/GB

You can track your Egress use by examining your monthly invoice - it will be listed under 'Monthly Egress'. You can also track Egress use in the Cloud dashboard by navigating to Administration -> Cost and Usage.

We are giving a 100% discount on Egress for all customers during the first month of go-live in order to help you understand how this change impacts your organization. In your monthly invoice and on the Cloud Dashboard, you will be able to see the amount of Egress your organization used and how much it would have cost in March.

We expect these changes to go into effect by the end of Q1, 2026-

  • Storage allocation options, including Premium Storage
  • New Windows Minutes tiers (Standard, Ultra, Turbo) and Linux Minutes tiers (Micro, Standard, Premium, Ultra)

The free monthly allocation of cloud storage will be raised from 5GB to 25GB. Billing for storage will be measured in GB rather than GB-Hours to make usage simpler to comprehend. This cloud storage is shared across your Unity Version Control repository as well as Build Artifacts for Unity Build Automation.

These planned changes do not impact on-prem pricing for Unity Version Control

The previous limit of 3 free seats for Unity Personal users will change to unlimited. The current 1:1 seats limit for Unity Pro, Enterprise and Industry will be removed as well.

Unity Build Automation supports concurrent builds for multiple platforms. With this update, free-tier users will now also be able to build for iOS and macOS, with 100 monthly Mac build minutes included. Additionally, a new billable meter for Egress consumption (outbound data transfer) is being introduced. You will receive a 100 GB free limit for Egress; usage beyond that threshold will be charged. If you exceed a free-tier limit and do not have a payment method on file, your access will be blocked and your data will be at risk of deletion until a credit card is added.

Anyone with a Unity ID should be able to start using Unity Version Control and Unity Build Automation for free, with no additional checkout or onboarding flows. When free-tier limits are exhausted, the customer needs to add their credit card through the checkout flow for pay-as-you-go to continue to use DevOps.

You can track your usage and costs within the free tier and will receive notifications when they are approaching or exceeding limits (e.g., at 50%, 75%, 90%, and 100% of consumption). If you cross a free-tier limit, access is blocked immediately. You can then unblock access by adding your credit card through the checkout flow for pay-as-you-go usage.

The pricing is the same regardless of the service being used. For example, we do not have a different price for UVCS storage and UBA storage, we only have a single unified price for storage, and both UVCS and UBA can contribute usage.

We’re adding 200 Windows Minutes (Micro), 100 Mac Minutes (Standard) and 100 Linux Minutes (Micro) to all accounts, allotted monthly. Additionally, we’re increasing the included Unity Editor Concurrency from 1 to 2 so you can run builds at the same time.

Havok Physics for Unity

Unity will no longer offer entitlement nor first-party support for Havok Physics for Unity starting with Unity 6.3 LTS.

Starting with Unity 6.3 LTS, the Microsoft Havok team can continue to offer an integration of Havok Physics for Unity as a regular third-party extension publisher. From that point onward, requests regarding availability, roadmap, pricing, and support for Havok Physics for Unity should be directed to the Microsoft Havok team.

Yes, technical support continues for users of Havok Physics for Unity in Unity 2022 LTS or Unity 6.0 LTS for the remainder of those LTS durations.

However, if you migrate to Unity 6.3 LTS or a future version, Unity will no longer support or include Havok in 6.3, and any questions should be directed to Microsoft Havok.

Unity Software Editor Terms Update

We updated the Editor Software Terms to remove language related to the recently canceled Unity Runtime Fee and to reflect upcoming changes to the Unity plan tier eligibility and financial thresholds.

The updated Editor Software Terms are in effect immediately, as of October 10, 2024.

For Unity Personal, the increased financial threshold ($0 to $200,000 USD) took effect when Unity 6 was released on October 17, 2024.

For Unity Pro, the new financial threshold ($200,001 to $24,999,999 USD) took effect on January 1, 2025 and applies to new and current subscriptions upon purchase, renewal, or upgrade.

For Unity Enterprise, the new financial threshold ($25,000,000 USD or more) took effect on January 1, 2025 and applies to new and current subscriptions upon purchase, renewal, or upgrade.

Editor Software Terms apply to all Unity Editor users of all Unity plans (Unity Personal, Unity Pro, Unity Enterprise, and Unity Industry) and all Editor versions.

Yes. You can continue using the prior accepted version of the terms for as long as you keep using that named version of Unity Editor (e.g., an upgrade from 2022.1 to 2022.2 is the same named version).

No. You must accept the updated October 10, 2024 Unity Editor Software Terms to use Unity 6.

Yes. Unity may update subscription prices for users who are on current and prior versions of Editor Software Terms. Any price changes will only apply upon purchase or renewal of your plan.

The Unity Runtime is a product that forms a core part of Unity’s offering. It’s the portion of Unity Software intended for distribution. As a result, it’s mentioned in the terms as a product and not in the context of the Unity Runtime Fee.

You can view the current and previous Editor Software Terms on our GitHub repository, or unity.com/legal. Other terms may apply based on the products and services you’re using. When we update any of our terms, we post a summary of the changes under the heading “What’s changed,” and include a link on each page to the preceding version of these terms.

Runtime Fee

The Runtime Fee was a pricing model intended to apply to games generating significant revenue based on use of the Unity Runtime. As of September 12, 2024, we decided to cancel it based on extensive analysis and deep consultation with our games customers – to better align with the needs and expectations of the developer ecosystem that relies on Unity.

The cancellation of the Runtime Fee is effective immediately, and will not apply to any games made with Unity 6 or any other version of Unity.

The cancellation of the Runtime Fee does not affect any Unity games, since it was not implemented. No new or existing Unity games have been, or will be, subject to the Runtime Fee.

If you have made specific budget forecasts or commitments for your games based on the Runtime Fee, you no longer have to account for those costs, but you may need to account for pricing changes for Unity Pro and Unity Enterprise plans effective January 1, 2025.
