Legal Information
Update: Effective June 30, 2026, we have updated our legal terms, including the Unity Terms of Service, including terms under the Additional Terms, and our Privacy Policy and DPA.
These updates are about making our terms clearer and bringing them up to date with how people build with Unity today:
Clearer pathways for AI and automated tools As AI agents, assistants, and automated tools become more common, we've spelled out how they can interact with Unity. AI and machine learning systems can access the platform through an authorized framework. Additionally, you're responsible for any automated tools acting on your behalf or through your account.
A clearer picture of how data and content is handled We've added clarity to the definitions that describe the different types of content and data involved when you use Unity products. The goal is to make it easier to follow what's processed to operate the products, what stays under your control, and how Unity will not use your project materials for product improvements unless authorized by you.
Fewer, simpler agreements We've consolidated several service-specific terms into one place. Parsec and DevOps now live within the Unity Cloud Additional Terms.
New and updated services We've added terms for a few newer offerings, including the new additions to the Unity IAP Service such as the addition of payment provider services and the Unity Webshop service. Additionally, we've refreshed our Unity Learning Additional Terms and the Advertising Content Policy.
Subscriptions and account details We've clarified our auto-renewal language, how Enterprise plans work, and our support and account-closure flows
Sub-processor notifications (effective July 30, 2026): We're changing how we notify you of Sub-processor updates. From July 30, changes will be posted to our Sub-processor list. To get email alerts, opt in at dpo@unity3d.com.
These changes are part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and providing a stable platform for creators. Please review the individual terms for all the changes in detail.
