LTS extension
The Long Term Support (LTS) version of Unity provides a stable foundation for projects that are in production or about to ship. It has the same feature set as the related Tech Stream releases, but LTS focuses on updates aimed at improving product stability for production-ready development projects.
Subscribers who are on Unity Enterprise from 2021 LTS will automatically gain another year of support – you don’t need to do anything to activate the extra year. The Unity Hub will check your license tier automatically, and updates will be available through the third year of that LTS version.
If a fix lands in the third year of an LTS version you’re using but your license doesn’t support access to that third year of upgrades, you can upgrade your project to a newer LTS version that contains the fix.
Extended LTS will be available through a third year from 2021 LTS onwards.
Learn about the technical details of our LTS releases on this dedicated Unity LTS webpage. If you have more specific questions, please reach out to your dedicated advisor or submit a ticket through our Support portal.
Source code (read-only)
Unity source code is the human-readable source code for the core Unity real-time 3D development platform. It includes the Unity game engine and Unity Editor source code, but not certain third-party software delivered with the Unity engine binaries or Unity dependencies. If you have more questions about source code, please contact your account manager or message Unity sales.
Source code enables you to dive deeper into your code and understand what’s happening at the code level of your game. There are benefits and risks to using source code – proceed with caution as dedicated support is not included for Enterprise customers with fewer than 20 seats.
Read-only mode enables you to understand what’s happening with Unity’s source code to have a fuller debugging experience. Full-access source code allows you to create your own builds of the Unity real-time development platform for use in production, and this access is available for purchase. Please contact your account manager or message Unity Sales for more information.
On October 13, access to read-only source code will be granted to new and existing Enterprise plans on a per-request basis as part of your Unity subscription. Please have your administrator reach out to your Unity account manager or contact Unity Sales.
The current public source code reference is read-only; it only includes the C# layer of the Unity game engine and Editor for the purpose of understanding or improving your projects.

Build Server
Unity Build Server licensing is managed through a locally installed License Server on your studio network. The License Server can be managed directly through the Unity ID portal. Unity Build Server runs Unity in batchmode through a command line interface and can only be used to generate builds, not to author project content.
No, a Build Server license is not required to build Unity projects. Build Server is a more cost-effective way for creative studios to offload the computational requirements of building projects to network hardware, freeing up developer workstations to enable higher levels of productivity.
No, Build Server is a license solution (floating license or serial key) that enables Unity to run in batch mode, freeing up developer workstations to continue working while OnPrem hardware performs builds.
Build Server requires v 2019.4.3 LTS or later.

Havok Physics for Unity provides deterministic physics simulation and collision detection for projects built with Unity’s Data-Oriented Technology Stack (DOTS). Build with confidence using the same battle-tested technology that brings believable physics to ragdolls, vehicles, and rigidbody constraints at peak performance, no matter the scale of your game world.
Havok Physics for Unity is a high-end solution for creators who need to produce complex physics simulations. It is written using the same C# DOTS framework as Unity Physics but includes the functionality and performance of the closed source, proprietary Havok Physics engine. Havok Physics is heavily optimized for simulating physics in graphically-intense games, which often include intricate scenes with lots of physical interaction.
Entitlement for Havok Physics for Unity will be included with Unity Pro, Unity Enterprise, and UIC starting on October 13, 2022, without waiting for license renewal. However, Havok Physics for Unity will only be available for Unity 2022.2 and higher.
Havok Physics for Unity will be generally available when Unity 2022.2 releases this fall. Havok Physics for Unity is built on top of Unity’s Data-Oriented Technology Stack (DOTS) to enable greater performance. DOTS is composed of the Burst Compiler and Jobs System, which are already available and being used by developers, as well as Entities, which is scheduled for release this year alongside Unity 2022.2. An experimental package of Havok Physics for Unity was released via the Unity Asset Store but is no longer supported and not recommended for games under development.
If you are using the Havok Physics for Unity experimental package from the Unity Asset Store, it will no longer be renewable after your current subscription ends. For Unity Pro and Unity Enterprise subscribers, the full release of Havok Physics for Unity will be available directly through the Unity Package Manager.
