Noesis Interactive Will Serve as a ‘One Stop’ Shop for Education Institutions for Unity Technologies and Noesis’ Video-Based Courseware and Instructional Materials

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - November 3, 2009

Unity Technologies, the leading provider of the multi-platform game development platform for Web, PC, Mac, Wii™ and iPhone, today announced a non-exclusive worldwide education distribution and training relationship with Noesis Interactive.

Educators around the world have begun to develop academic programs to teach students how to develop video games as part of a game development track, certificate or degree. To enhance and accelerate this opportunity, Noesis Interactive will serve as a one stop shop for education customers to purchase both the Unity Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and Noesis created Video Courseware at special educational prices, along with extensive instructional materials for the Winter Terms beginning in January 2010.

“We view our relationship with Unity Technologies as a great match for both Unity and Noesis,” said Casey Noland, CEO at Noesis Interactive. Unity has a game development platform that is quickly gaining momentum with educators around the world. Noesis is about making it easy for students to learn how to use tools while enabling teachers to focus on conceptual learning and the art of game design. Together, we plan to meet the needs of educators and fulfill our common vision.”

“Unity Technologies is on the cusp of dramatically changing the face of interactive content development forever and it's critical that we support worldwide educational institutions in helping their students to become great Unity developers,” said Nicholas Francis, Chief Creative Officer at Unity Technologies. “We believe that Noesis Interactive is the perfect partner based on their experience and expertise in providing educators with the high quality education material that helps create world class students, and down the road, world class developers.”

Noesis Interactive is currently developing two initial course offerings, Unity Essentials (https://education.noesisinteractive.com/video-courseware-798.html) and Unity Scripting (https://education.noesisinteractive.com/video-courseware-782.html). Unity Essentials will teach the fundamentals of the IDE interface and common practices as well as general workflow, asset management and publishing techniques. Unity Scripting will build on these fundamental skills and teach more specific methods for creating interactive game experiences within Unity through JavaScript.

In addition, Noesis Interactive will provide course outlines, online quizzes, assessment tools, instructor notes and teaching aids at no charge to participating academic institutions, in order for them to rapidly implement courses designed around the Unity platform.
