Summer Game Fest Unity Games Recap

Summer Game Fest is one of the most exciting weeks in gaming. Across more than a dozen flagship events and partner and community showcases, it delivers a relentless stream of announcements across every genre and platform. This year's edition was no different - and for Unity developers, it was a particularly big week. From world premieres to release date announcements, games built on Unity showed up across nearly every showcase. Here's a roundup of the most notable Unity game announcements from Summer Game Fest 2026
Day of the Devs is one of the longest-running and most respected indie showcases in the industry, shining a spotlight on some of the most exciting and creative indie games on the horizon. Join narrative designer Pinki Li and artist Daniel Beaulieu at developer Sunset Visitor as they discuss the creation of Mesa, the A.I. at the center of Prove You're Human, in this new video for the upcoming first-person narrative adventure game. What served as their inspiration? How did they animate the distinctive look of her face? How did they integrate the writing, animation, and programming to bring Mesa to life…all to task players with dispelling her of these illusions? Check out the video to find out.
A Big Week for Game Announcements
Day of the Devs wasn't the only place to find exciting Unity game news at Summer Game Fest 2026. Throughout the week, studios shared announcements and updates across a range of showcases. Here's a roundup of more Unity games we're looking forward to:
Bad Magpie (Milktooth Games) was announced at the Xbox Games Showcase and is coming in 2027.
lily's world XD (SonderingEmily) announced that a playable demo is available now, featured in the Women-Led Games Showcase.
Am I Nima (HO! Games) was featured in the Story-Rich Showcase and announced a release date of October 8, 2026.
Shroom and Gloom (Team Lazerbeam) was featured at the PC Gaming Show, where a new demo was announced alongside confirmation that the game is coming to Early Access in 2026.
Big Walk (House House) was featured in the June 2026 Nintendo Direct and announced a release date of August 4, 2026.
