Unite 2012 to Take Place in Amsterdam

Feb 17, 2012

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Feb 16, 2012 - Unity Technologies, provider of the Unity multi-platform engine and development tools are happy to announce that Unite 12, the latest in the annual conference for developers using Unity, will be held in Amsterdam from August 22-24, 2012.

Unite 12 kicks off on August 22 with the keynote address given by founders David Helgason, Nicholas Francis, and Joachim Ante after which the show will open in earnest with a wide range of educational seminars and hands-on demonstrations given by experts both within Unity Technologies and in the Unity developer community. The most impressive Unity-authored titles will be honored during the Unity Awards ceremony and will be immediately followed by the always excellent Unite party.

"For us, Unite is the most magical time of the year," said David Helgason, CEO of Unity Technologies. "This is the best opportunity for the whole Unity team to interact with all of the developers that use the product we work so hard to create. We go there to learn as much as to teach: how is Unity being used, what do we need to improve, and what should we do more of."

Unite 12 marks the 6th year of the annual conference designed for developers from all walks to converge, share their experiences, and learn about Unity. Unite has grown from the first show in 2007 attended by 70 people into a major industry event that last attracted 1300 attendees to San Francisco, California.

"Every time we choose a location for Unite, we want to meet more of our customers," explains Helgason. "Unite has been in the US and Canada for the last couple of years so we figured a glorious return to Europe was about time. We chose Amsterdam because it's a fun and well-connected city that also has a strong development community."

Holding the show in Amsterdam marks a return to Europe for the first time in three years. The Westergasfabriek location offers up a beautiful atmosphere for both learning and relaxing near to several Amsterdam attractions and plenty of after-hours fun.

Unity Technologies will also be hosting Unity Training Day, for Flash developers and others new to Unity, before Unite on August 21st at DeLaMar Theater in Amsterdam.

Look for more detailed information about Unite 12 in the coming months and remember to keep an eye out for the opening of Unity Award nominations on May 21.
