Unity Wins Best Engine at Develop Awards, Recognized by AlwaysOn Global 250 and OnMobile Top 100

Jul 13, 2012

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Jul 12, 2012 - Unity Technologies, provider of the Unity multi-platform engine and development tools, is thrilled to share that Unity was awarded top honors in the Best Engine category at the 2012 Develop Awards. Additionally, Unity Technologies was recently chosen by AlwaysOn as a winner for both the AlwaysOn Global 250 and OnMobile Top 100.

The Develop awards, held annually in Brighton, England, recognize excellence in the video game development industry. Nominees are selected by the highly respected Develop staff and voted by over 100 game development executives. This marks the first time that Unity has won the award for Best Engine and signifies strong strides forward for the engine as a force for innovation and creativity in video games. At the 2010 Develop awards, Unity was awarded the Technical Innovation and Grand Prix award.

"We are incredibly honored to have been awarded Best Engine from the incredible team at Develop and so many of our industry peers," said David Helgason, CEO, Unity Technologies. "It's impossible not to feel gratified that our efforts have made such a positive impact on the industry. This makes us that much hungrier to continue improving our technology and business for the future."

Unity Technologies was also selected by AlwaysOn for both the AlwaysOn Global 250 and OnMobile Top 100. Inclusion on these lists signifies leadership amongst peers and game-changing approaches and technologies that are likely to disrupt existing markets and entrenched players. Nominated by investors, bankers, journalists, and industry insiders, the OnMobile Top 100 winners were selected from among hundreds of other technology companies and the AlwaysOn Global 250 were selected from among thousands of domestic and international technology companies.

"It's amazing to receive the double recognition from AlwaysOn as a winner of the AlwaysOn Global 250 and OnMobile Top 100 companies," said Helgason. "Unity Technologies' mission is to democratize game development worldwide and our addition to these lists is amazing momentum for us to continue pushing forward and remain leaders in the technology sector."
