Unity Technologies Reports Demand for Unity Skills Doubles; Launches Programs to Further Enhance Global Learning Ecosystem

Unity arms future creators with more education resources than any other real-time development platform on the market

SAN FRANCISCO, December 10, 2018 -- Unity Technologies (https://unity3d.com/), creator of the world’s most widely used real-time 3D development platform, today announced that developing in Unity has been named one of the most in-demand tech skills by Burning Glass1. To highlight the company’s continued commitment to the global learning ecosystem, Unity also announced a series of programs designed to broaden the scope of Unity learning materials, including the Learning Services Distributors program, a partnership with Lenovo to co-create learning materials, and several new certification prep courses and live training workshops. Each program was launched to celebrate Unity’s position as the leading real-time 3D platform with the highest volume of educational resources.

“We believe the world is a better place with more creators and that it is our duty to ensure all creators have the tools they need to achieve their goals,” said Jessica Lindl, Global Head of Education, Unity Technologies. “According to Burning Glass, developing in Unity is one of the most in-demand tech skills, growing at more than 57 percent in the next five years2. This is why we have created a global learning ecosystem to ensure every creator has a path to engage and advance their aspirations, wherever they may be in their education, careers, and lives.”

Making Unity Training Available to People Everywhere, Around the World

Unity Learning Services Distributors are part of the Unity Authorized Training Partner program and are responsible for providing Authorized Training Partners with the tools they need to ensure Unity training is accessible to people everywhere, across all regions in local languages and learning cultures. ThinkEDU (North America), KnowledgePoint (EMEA), and ACAA (China) have been chosen as the first appointed Learning Services Distributors.

Certification Prep Courses and Live Training Workshops for Every Learner, at Every Skill Level

The Unity education program includes a rich catalog of learning and professional advancement tools that has something for every learner, regardless of skill level. Unity courseware offerings continue to grow, recently expanding its suite of certifications to six offerings, including Programmer, 3D Artist, Gameplay Programmer, Technical Artist: Rigging & Animation, Technical Artist: Shading & Effects, and Associate. Prep courses for certifications can be completed online or in a live workshop format at a local Authorized Training Partner facility, and all Unity certification exams can also be taken online or from home.

“Unity’s training and certification services played a major role in why we switched to Unity to complete the development of our game,” said Maggy Larouche, Senior Producer on Jurassic World Alive at Ludia. “Our team was able to become Unity certified through its free tutorials, giving us the tools to tackle challenges as we create new features and games. Employing Unity Certified Developers also helps us attract talent. Applicable to all levels, we can now list ‘Unity experience’ as a key qualification when scouting out new recruits.”
