Unity Technologies and Noesis Interactive Announce New Service as Academic Institutions Standardize on Unity

Jun 15, 2010

24/7 Unity Training Now Available for $19.95 per month

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - June 15, 2010

Building on an education partnership announced last year, Unity Technologies, provider of the Unity development platform for highly interactive 3D on the web, iPhone, iPad, PC, Mac, Android, Wii™, Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3, and Noesis Interactive, a Worldwide Authorized Unity Education reseller, today announced that Unity specific Noesis training materials are now accessible via the newly launched Design3 streaming service at https://www.design3.com/unity

With the rapid growth of video gaming programs and the growing interest in the creation of video games for the web, mobile and console, Unity has become the platform of choice for teaching students to how to develop video games. Noesis Interactive makes it easy for educational institutions to enhance their game programs with Noesis curricula, including video courseware and teaching materials.

"The excitement over Unity in the academic world is growing quickly, and we're pleased that we have the opportunity to support Unity with our training materials," said Casey Noland, CEO, Noesis Interactive. "Our goal is to enable all Unity customers to be making games ASAP and Design3’s new 24/7 streaming service will be perfect to accommodate the schedule and budget of all Unity customers."

Unity is now being integrated into video game programs throughout the world including community colleges, universities and private institutions such as Cochise College, the University of Central Florida, The Art Institutes, USC and NYU.

David Helgason, CEO of Unity Technologies, said, “When we launched Unity in 2005, our initial focus was the education market but we soon realized that we needed to be successful in the commercial market before we'd be accepted by the academic community. With our blowout success in the game industry and beyond it's now exciting to see that so many academic institutions are becoming part of the Unity family, and Noesis is doing great work to make this happen.”

Design3 provides 24/7 access to the extensive Noesis library starting at only $19.95 per month. To better serve both students and instructors, Noesis is now offering the Noesis Academic Alliance Program at www.design3.net/academic that includes several membership benefits for participating institutions including product discounts.
