Seyler and Toksvig ‘Pair of Aces’ Added to Growing Team

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - January 6, 2010

Unity Technologies, the provider of the market-leading Unity development platform for Web, PC, Mac, Wii™ and iPhone, announced today the appointments of Brett Seyler as VP of Strategy and Steffen Toksvig as Development Director.

Brett Seyler joins from Torque engine developer InstantAction (formerly GarageGames) and Steffen Toksvig comes to Unity Technologies from ‘Hitman’ developer IO Interactive. Each brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the rapidly growing worldwide team that also recently announced former Criterion man Graham Dunnett to lead its UK studio.

Brett and Steffen join the team cited by Gamasutra as "A major player in the market" and ‘One of the Top 5 Game Companies of 2009’ (alongside long established giants including Apple and Valve).

“Unity Technologies has shown impressive foresight by investing early in technology for both browser and mobile games, which are now the most exciting segments in the industry," said Brett Seyler, VP of Strategy at Unity Technologies. "The team here not only has great ideas, but a proven capacity to execute, so I think it's fair to expect big things in the future."

Steffen Toksvig, Development Director at Unity Technologies, added, “Unity Technologies is probably the most exciting place in the industry to be. What the team has achieved so far is fantastic and it does not stop here.”

“I’m incredibly happy to have Brett and Steffen on board," said David Helgason, CEO of Unity Technologies. "This 'pair of aces' is going to really strengthen our hand as we grow Unity Technologies into the no.1 platform for interactive content developers.”

About Brett Seyler

Brett Seyler joins Unity Technologies as VP of Strategy. Brett spent 2008 and 2009 as General Manager of Torque at InstantAction where he oversaw all aspects of the business including operations, finance, product development, marketing and business development. Under his tenure, the business grew by more than 50 percent year-over-year, and the product itself advanced dramatically over previous versions.

About Steffen Toksvig

Steffen Toksvig joins as Development Director, based in the heart of Unity Technologies’ development office in Denmark. Prior to joining Unity Technologies, Steffen spent six years at IO Interactive as CTO, Tools Developer and Lead Programmer where he contributed to the success of the ‘Hitman’ series, ‘Kane & Lynch’ and ‘Freedom Fighters’.
