The opportunity

We are hiring a Staff SDK Engineer to join as the technical owner and system leader for the Android Ads SDK, coordinating work across engineers and SDK components. You will define and drive the SDK architecture strategy, and serve as a trusted technical representative for the Android SDK in cross-team and partner discussions, influencing platform-level decisions.

This is a chance to work at the exciting intersection of SDK development, machine learning, and data infrastructure. Join us to create innovative solutions that propel advertising technology forward, impacting billions of global ad experiences while ensuring privacy and compliance.

What you'll be doing

  • Act as the technical owner and system leader for the Android Ads SDK, coordinating work across engineers and SDK components.
  • Lead architectural evolution of the Android SDK, enabling the platform to scale to support additional capabilities while maintaining a stable and simple integration experience for developers.
  • Serve as the technical decision maker and escalation point for complex Android platform issues, reducing delivery risk and operational overhead.
  • Own Android SDK stability and performance outcomes, with direct accountability for reducing ANRs, crashes, and performance regressions that impact developer trust and revenue.
  • Lead the incremental modernization of a large, legacy SDK while continuing to ship features and support existing integrations.
  • Proactively improve existing architectural structures, engineering processes, and quality standards to reduce operational and stability risk.
  • Exercise strong technical judgment when reconciling competing priorities (performance, reliability, monetization impact, development velocity, backwards compatibility).
  • Identify recurring problems and abstracts them into reusable, generalized solutions across SDK and ad products.
  • Partner closely with product, data, backend, and iOS teams to define shared contracts, rollout strategies, and technical guardrails.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to set and raise standards for SDK engineering rigor, including design reviews, reliability metrics, and release practices.
  • Serve as a trusted technical representative for the Android SDK in cross-team and partner discussions, influencing platform-level decisions.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of professional mobile development experience, with deep specialization in Android.
  • Familiarity with Ads SDKs, monetization platforms, mediation, or webview based rendering systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin
  • Demonstrated experience designing and evolving SDK architectures, including API surface design, initialization models, and backwards compatibility.
  • Experience leading or owning large-scale refactors or architectural migrations with minimal disruption to existing customers.
  • Experience working across Android and iOS SDKs, including defining shared cross platform contracts.
  • Experience with SDK observability, diagnostics, and experiment driven rollouts.
  • Understanding of mobile security and best practices, especially in SDK environments.
  • Prior experience operating in high scale, consumer facing platforms with strong reliability requirements.

Additional information

  • Relocation support is not available for this position
  • Work visa/immigration sponsorship is not available for this position
