2020 Long Term Support (LTS)

The LTS release is for creators who value maximum stability and support. This version includes usability, performance, and stability enhancements to improve your overall experience working in and with Unity as a visual thinker.


URP의 다양한 부문에 개선이 이뤄져 카메라 스태킹을 통해 2D UI에서 3D 모델과 같은 효과를 구현하거나, 새로운 Complex Lit Shader를 활용해 차량의 도장면과 같은 머티리얼을 시뮬레이션할 수 있으며, 릿 셰이더에 입력할 수 있는 표면이 새로 추가되기도 했습니다. 또한 스크린 공간 앰비언트 오클루전은 씬에서 주변광의 화질을 개선합니다.


이제 셰이더 그래프에 성능이 더욱 개선된 그래프 에디터가 포함되어 그래프의 종단점은 단일 마스터 노드가 아닌 기능 블록의 모듈식 집합으로 구성됩니다. 그래프 인스펙터에는 현재 선택한 설정과 호환되는 기능 및 노드가 시각적으로 표시되는 등 다양한 개선이 이뤄졌습니다.


GPU 및 CPU 라이트매퍼의 샘플링을 개선하고 반사율을 높였으며 라이트맵 베이킹 시 메모리 사용량을 줄입니다. 씬에서 전역 조명에 영향을 미치는 오브젝트를 확인하고 조명 설정 에셋을 사용하여 여러 씬에서 동시에 사용되는 설정을 변경합니다.

2021.2 Tech Stream

The Tech Stream release is for creators who value having early access to newer features that help them stay on the cutting edge. With continued focus on increasing stability and robustness, this release brings a number of updates that provide creators with a higher-quality authoring and rendering experience.

The Universal Render Pipeline now has enhanced support for decals, improved SSAO, light cookies, and lens flares, as well as additional implementation of reflection probes. These additions are designed to produce higher-fidelity scenes and bring URP closer to feature parity with the Built-In Render Pipeline.


Our focus on URP for this release also delivers productivity boosts for your workflow such as light anchors to efficiently manipulate lights, the VFX Graph 2D Renderer, and preset templates and samples to help you get started more quickly.

If you are in production or close to release, we recommend the LTS release. If you want to use the latest Unity features in your project or are just getting started with production, the Tech Stream is recommended.

Both our alpha and beta releases are open to everyone, so no signup is required. Get started by downloading them from the Unity Hub. Because there may be feature-stability issues with these early releases, we do not recommend them for projects in production, and we highly recommend that you back up any project before you open it with an alpha or beta release.
