WHAT: World renowned recording artist Björk conducted the world’s first live mocap (motion capture) press conference at Somerset House in London to coincide with the opening of the Björk Digital exhibit. From 1,200 miles away in Reykjavík, Björk appeared and answered questions via a live motion capture avatar rendered and streamed in Unity, the engine made by Unity Technologies.
WHO: Unity Technologies is the maker of the Unity, the engine and platform that enables creators to create and publish 2D, 3D, VR and AR games and experiences to 26 platforms from mobile devices to headsets including Oculus, HTC Vive and Samsung Gear.
Today’s presentation is the first step toward the realization of fully immersive live VR experiences, where individuals will be able to experience performances, concerts, speeches and sports events right from their living room.
