Unity Technologies Expands Union Team to Support Rapid Growth of Business Unit

Feb 15, 2011

BARCELONA, SPAIN and SAN FRANCISCO, CA - February 15, 2011 - Today at Mobile World Congress, Unity Technologies, provider of the Unity development platform for games and interactive 3D on the web, iOS, Android, consoles and beyond, today announced the appointments of Oren Tversky as VP of Business Development, Brian Bruning as Director of Developer Relations and Tricia Gray as Director of Marketing for Union. Union is a business unit of Unity Technologies dedicated to syndicating high quality 3D games on mobile phones, tablets, set-top boxes, connected TVs and other new platforms.

As VP of Business Development, Oren works with several marketplace and platform partners to achieve the broadest distribution and best possible monetization for developers' games. Brian works with developers to identify and source compelling content, as well as help match games with platform partners' audiences as Director of Developer Relations. Tricia is focused on getting the word out to developers about Union and to consumers about great Union games as Director of Marketing for Union. She is also in charge of events, public relations and co-marketing as Director of Marketing Communications for Unity Technologies.

"I'm humbled and excited to have such a great team to help ramp up this new effort," said Brett Seyler, General Manager of Union and VP of Strategy at Unity Technologies. "Oren, Brian and Tricia all have deep backgrounds in gaming, awesome skills and valuable relationships in the games and consumer electronics industry."

Since Union's introduction last November at Unite 2010, more than 1000 developers representing more than 1000 Unity-authored titles have registered their interest in Union. The first wave of titles from Union is expected to reach the market in the Summer. Union also announced a partnership with Sony Ericsson to enable rapid development and porting of Unity-based games to the new Sony Ericsson Xperia™ PLAY smartphone and to jointly market Unity-based games via Union. About Oren Tversky

Oren's 20-year background in technology includes time in both the mobile and gaming industries. As Head of Business Development at Symbian, he launched Symbian's Korean business. Prior to receiving his MBA from UC Berkeley, he worked in the video games industry for The 3DO Company. He has also worked in senior management roles for a number of technology start-ups.

About Brian Bruning

Brian has been helping game developers the last 15 years through innovative technologies, partnerships and products. After ushering in 3D hardware acceleration with 3dfx (Voodoo Graphics), his passion for emerging platforms led him to early mobile games engine pioneer Fathammer (X-Forge) and then to NVIDIA (Tegra).

About Tricia Gray

Tricia has 15 years experience in the video game industry. Her passion for marketing landed her at game publishing houses and eventually with development studios. She worked at Eidos on Tomb Raider IP and their ION storm PC arm, and she helped launch Rockstar Games. She also held executive marketing roles at Flagship studios (Hellgate and Mythos) and Cryptic Studios.

About Union

Union is a newly formed business unit of Unity Technologies, dedicated to syndicating high quality video games to mobile phones, app stores, tablets, set-top boxes, connected TVs and other emerging platforms. Union works closely with Unity's video game developers and publishers to build a portfolio of premium gaming titles. Union then adapts, localizes and syndicates this content to app stores, mobile phones and other platforms, as appropriate to the medium, helping developers access technically or commercially challenging monetization opportunities and providing platform partners with a rich gaming experience for their consumers. Union provides an 80 percent revenue share to its developers. For more information, visit: https://unity3d.com/union.
