These FAQs provide a handy entry point to our longer and more comprehensive Developer Privacy Policy. They are intended to enhance rather than replace the important notices in the Privacy Policy, which governs our collection, use, storage, and sharing of the information that we collect or receive from you. Customers should understand that Unity does not provide legal advice, therefore the information on this page is not a substitute for seeking your own legal counsel to determine the legal requirements of your business and processes, and how to address them.

Is Unity Collecting Information On Players Of My Game?

If you are a developer or publisher that uses Unity Ads, Unity Analytics or any other personalization service (e.g., GameTune), then yes, Unity might be collecting personal information on the player of your game. In the case of Unity Ads, the player will have the option to opt out of personal information collection and request a report on the personal information collected. For other personalization services, it is up to you, the developer, to implement the proper configurations that abide by applicable Privacy  laws and regulations.

Did your Privacy Policy move from its current URL?

The previous privacy policy URL now directs the user to a privacy center where the user can select the privacy policy which applies to them. You may use the usual link which goes to the privacy center if you need to update your own privacy policy, or you can link directly to the Game Player and App User Privacy Policy

As a publisher, what should I do to be transparent with my players?

You should continue to notify your players about third-party ad partners (like Unity) that you share data with. You can do this by placing a link to our Privacy Policy within your own privacy policy. This is no different from the transparency Unity has previously recommended.
