The opportunity
Supersonic is looking for a seasoned, dynamic Senior Manager to lead our mobile gaming activities and drive excellence across development, data & analytics, tooling and game development.
The ideal candidate will be bringing strong Game development experience, leadership skills, deep technical expertise in the Unity Engine ecosystem, and a strategic mindset to build and scale high-impact gaming systems.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and scale our gaming organization: manage multiple teams and titles (game dev, tools, ops) and the managers who lead them.
- Define and execute the vision and roadmap for our games portfolio: leveraging Unity as the core engine/platform, and ensuring high‐quality graphics, performant code, and engaging player experiences.
- Oversee client analytics and configuration infrastructure: build and maintain reliable, scalable systems that feed game design, live-ops, user-engagement, monetization, and business decisions.
- Collaborate with machine learning and data-science teams: work with your teams to design, deploy and operate models (player behavior prediction, personalization, content generation, monetisation optimisation).
- Champion internal tooling and operational frameworks: from build/deploy workflows to live-ops dashboards, monitoring, dev-productivity tooling and analytics platforms, ensuring the organization runs efficiently at scale.
- Foster cross‐functional collaboration: partner with product, design, art, engineering, operations, marketing and business teams to align on goals, metrics, and delivery.
- Mentor and grow your leadership team: hire, develop and retain high‐performing managers and their teams; ensure strong culture, clarity of roles, and accountability.
- Set and monitor KPIs: game performance, live-ops metrics, user acquisition/retention/monetization, platform stability, tooling adoption, developer productivity, and team growth.
- Stay abreast of industry trends: graphic rendering / real-time 3D, Unity evolutions, ML/AI in games, data-driven live multiplayer operations, and incorporate those into strategy.
What we're looking for
- 10+ years in game development, with a strong track record of shipping titles using Unity and leading engineering/dev teams.
- Experience as a team lead then a leader of managers and ICs (i.e., you’ve grown engineers → leads → you now lead leads).
- Deep technical understanding of Unity (C#, real‐time 3D graphics pipelines, performance optimisation, mobile ecosystem).
- Significant experience working with and operating data pipelines / analytics platforms that support game operations, user-behavior tracking, live-ops, monetisation.
- Proven ability to design/drive internal tooling and operational frameworks (dev-tools, build & deploy, live-ops, monitoring/observability).
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills: you’re comfortable interacting with senior stakeholders, translating technical strategy for non-technical audiences, and driving organizational change.
- Strong strategic, analytical and product mindset: you can assess market/competitive dynamics, identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and execute.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, agile environment; ability to lead teams through ambiguity and scale.
You might also have
- Experience with backend services for multiplayer/live games, cloud infrastructure, data-warehouse technologies (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery), real-time analytics, A/B testing frameworks.
- Deep understanding and experience working with machine learning / data science in a gaming or interactive context (e.g., player modeling, recommendation, personalization, content generation).
