The opportunity
The Create Data and Insights team at Unity plays a central role in driving data-informed decision making by delivering impactful reporting, actionable insights, and scalable data solutions.
We are looking for an analytical, communicative, and intellectually curious Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. In this high-visibility role, you will use your technical expertise in data development to support strategic projects that directly influence Unity’s product direction. Your work will provide the Product organization with the insights needed to guide future investments and evaluate the performance of our current portfolio.

What you'll be doing
- Partner with Unity leaders to develop and execute a clear strategy for product data and insights.
- Deliver strategic product insights across the company through our internal hub for product information.
- Align with cross-functional leaders around clearly defined, shared goals.
- Empower and grow a team of talented data professionals.
- Define and track KPIs in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.
- Build data visualizations and dashboards using Looker, Hex, Colab and Druid/Imply.
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of reported data.
- Design, instrument, and develop Data Products for Engine pods.
- Work with relational and non-relational databases (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, SQL, and more).
- Continuously optimize ETL processes using Airflow.
- Be an expert in everything related to Unity Editor tracking and measurement
- Strong industry knowledge of all games/apps built using Unity Editor
What we're looking for
- Experience in Data Engineering, Data orchestration and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.).
- Demonstrated success in delivering analyses that shape business and product strategy
- Experience managing confidential or pre-release projects with strict security and communication protocols
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and strategic stakeholders
- Advanced SQL expertise and a solid background in BI and data engineering environments
- In-depth knowledge of data development and hands-on experience with application development using the Unity Engine
- Skilled at turning complex data into actionable insights through compelling visualization and storytelling
- Responsible for making data AI-ready by implementing metadata collection, governance, and quality controls, transforming raw data into structured, scalable assets for advanced analytics and machine learning use cases
You might also have
- Knowledge of Python, PySpark, Looker Development
- Familiarity with at least one of the following programming languages or frameworks: JavaScript, TypeScript, C, C#, C++, React, Go, Java, Kotlin, or Swift.
- Background in gaming, software, or tech industries.
- Passion for real-time 3D, game development, and Unity’s mission.
- Hands-on experience using Unity’s development platform.
- Ad Tech and Game/Application Monetization expertise is a plus.
